While we may not realize it, video marketing has been around since the 1960s, we just called it television commercials.  Now, we have YouTube, Snapchat, Vimeo, Facebook, etc… Video marketing is an excellent way to get up close and personal with your audience while providing a shareable medium.  You can give people explanations and instructions to educate on your product, conduct interviews to encourage discussions, or show a product review or demo.

Of course, there are some best practices to follow.  You’ll want to tailor the length of your video to your platform.  Instagram is the shortest with just 30 seconds, while YouTube is longest at 2 minutes.  That’s not to say these platforms will limit your time.  These times are recommended based on click-through analytics.  It doesn’t matter how long your video is if you’re losing your audience halfway through.

You’ll also want to include a call to action.  This can be encouraging people to visit your website to learn more, leave a comment to continue the discussion, or check back at a later date for a continuation of information.
